Prachi Desai was born on 12 September 1988, in Surat into a Gujarati family. She is the endorser, spokesperson, brand ambassador and the face of Neutrogena products in India. She is additionally the brand ambassador of Goa Tourism, a preferred vacation destination in India.

Desai has studied in St. Joseph Convent, Panchgani and completed her schooling till ninth grade in Surat. She has completed her higher studies in Sinhagad College in Pune. As a student, she won several prizes for her active participation in dance and acting competitions.

Career
Prachi Desai is passionate about acting since childhood. She was in Pune for higher studies and had almost finished her junior college when her pictures were sent to Balaji Telefilms who called her for audition. She was 17 when she left studies and started career in acting with daily soap Kasamh Se as Bani opposite Ram Kapoor. Later, she got an opportunity to join bollywood and made debut with the film "Rock on!!" opposite Farhan Akhtar.
In Rock on 2
Rock on! 2 is the sequel of Rock on! which stars Shraddha Kapoor joining the existing cast which includes Prachi Desai and Shahana Goswami. Prachi has again roped into the film as Farhan's wife. Whereas Shahana Goswami, will be seen as Arjun's wife. Prachi said, "It is really going to be a special project for Farhan and me, as it was our first film together."

In Mohammad Azharuddin biopic
Pracchi Desai will be seen playing the role of Emraan Hashmi's wife Naureen in Mohammad Azharuddin biopic. She said, "We know about Azharuddin's life on field, but not much about Naureen. I'm getting to know a lot more about her from our director and writers. I have been taking references as I have not done any real life character before. People really don't know about Naureen (Azhar's wife), so it's going to be little challenging to put a face to her onscreen."
Fitness/Yoga
Considering the profession they are in, along with rigorous shooting schedules, an actor needs to be in a perfect shape always. She said "whenever I have some time I practice yoga as it has a lot of health benefits."
